Blackberry Court is a five bedded purpose built residential bungalow, situated in Stanway, to the west of Colchester.
The home has a large spacious lounge, and a large kitchen/dining area. Five large bedrooms, each with its own en-suite with WC, hand wash basin, and either a shower or bath. The home is heated via a under floor heating system and each room has its own individual temperature and timing control.
Blackberry Court is within a 5 minutes walking distance to the local amenities, which include a bakers, hairdressers, post office and news agents, and is also close to the Tollgate retail park, with shops such as Sainsbury’s supermarket, McDonald’s, Comet and PC world. The main bus route into the town centre passes directly by Blackberry Court, with a service very 30 minutes.
Blackberry Court is a service for young adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities. The aim of Blackberry Court is to provide a ‘stepping Stone’ for individuals, whose primary objective is to live in their own home in the future with full or partial support.
The special placement would be designed for a period of one or two years, during which the service user will have the opportunity to develop a repertoire of skills needed to live and undertake work in the community.
